Hello everyone. I am a proud Honour House volunteer, and an aspiring Firefighter. Since joining Honour House, I have gained the appreciation and respect for everything that Honour House does for those who should require it. Let’s get out there and pass the biscuit around, tape to tape, couple saucer passes, and even share a couple laughs while raising some money! Go team.

Hi, my name is Joe. This is my first time participating in the Honour House hockey tournament. I work in law enforcement and would love to take part in a fun event for a good cause. Honour House is a refuge, a "home away from home" for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families to stay, completely free of charge, while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Metro Vancouver area. Honour House receives no direct funding and raises all of its operating costs through donations and fundraising. Please come and support everyone who are participating in this event on November 16th.

I have always loved hockey and was finally lucky enough to start playing minor hockey just before I turned 15. I went to the Hockey Canada Skills Academy in Kelowna for three years as part of a pilot project to see if hockey and school could work hand in hand. These programs are now in many schools across BC. It was an amazing experience and made me a good hockey player but an even better person. I have been a member of the RCMP for eight years where I served in the Northwest Territories for five years working in 14 different communities. My last three years have been spent here in the Lower Mainland. I met Honour House Society through an event. It is nice to know this is there for first responders when they need it! This year is extra significant to me because one of my teammates from last years Charity tournament tragically passed away a couple months ago. He was an extremely nice and personable guy who was also passionate about giving back and supporting Honour House. This is my second year doing this and I'd love to help raise some more money for this wonderful cause!

This will be my first year playing in the Honour House tournament and I'm excited to lace up my skates for this important cause. I currently work as a paramedic and have also been involved with other first responder agencies in the past. Throughout my childhood my family frequently travelled to Vancouver from northern BC for my sister’s medical appointments and treatments. On a few of our trips we stayed at RMH, and I’m sure having accommodations that were accessible and close to appointments took a huge amount of stress off of my parents. I look forward to assisting in removing that stress from others in the emergency services/military family and appreciate any donations you can make to help with our fundraising.

I've played hockey since i was a little one in Montreal.. Hockey is in my blood. I'm also an active Military reservist and this is a cool way to give back and have some fun at the same time. I'm registered as a volunteer at Honour House but haven't had time to actually volunteer. This makes perfect sense, play hockey and raise some funds. Awesome.
